Chef-driven Tasting Menu
Executive Chef Nick Wirth focuses on his menu and culinary team above all else, sourcing the best ingredients in the city. While Bacchus is a great location for special occasions, Executive Chef Nick’s tasting menu is an approachable and fun way to go on a culinary adventure on any night of the week. Presented in the “omakase” tradition, the guest is encouraged to let the chef decide what to serve based on what is fresh on that day. Guests can choose between five and seven courses and can add sommelier-chosen wine pairings for the full experience.
Sommeliers in the City
Advanced Sommelier Katie Espinosa, who oversees the beverage program at Bacchus, has carefully crafted the wine list of over 800 bottles. She prides herself on bringing some of the best wines in the world for guests at Bacchus to enjoy. Katie also works with an incredibly talented team. With a many of the service staff having a Level 1 sommelier accreditation, the most in the city, guests are assured that wines are always expertly chosen and perfectly paired.
Special Events
Bacchus brings Milwaukeeans the opportunities to brush elbows with winemakers from all over the world. Over the course of the restaurant’s tenure, many of the premier champagne and wine houses have traveled from all parts of the world to bring their knowledge and passion for the vine to our dining room. Special guests have included purveyors from the houses of Moët & Chandon, Bollinger Champagne, and Fontanafredda, among others.
More Than Just Wine
In the December 2017 issue of Milwaukee Magazine, Editor-in-Chief, Carol Nicksin wrote about Bacchus calling it her “watering hole of choice.” Beyond the restaurant’s expertise in wine, Bacchus ’ talented bar staff have an extensive knowledge of the libations offered and regularly create new craft cocktails. Guests are treated to the same explanation of a particular whiskey or cocktail that they would expect from a sommelier describing a wine.
